Locations
Today, LUHNS has a presence at three locations within Germany, with the parent site in Wuppertal as the administrative center, and production in Greven and Bopfingen.
Greven
We have been producing detergents and cleaning agents at Greven, in Westphalia, since 1989. Business growth, increasing lack of space, and also environmental and traffic considerations in Wuppertal, obliged us in the late eighties to consider constructing a new plant, or at least relocating parts of our operations. In parallel, Procter & Gamble decided more or less simultaneously to close its relatively new plant at Greven in late September, 1989, in the context of the restructuring of its own European production operations. Only as recently as the mid-1970s, this US multinational had built a liquid-detergents plant on a greenfield site at Reckenfeld. For LUHNS, the planned closure of this facility was an ideal opportunity of expanding production; we therefore acquired the plant and installed a new warehousing center. Production of liquid products at Greven then commenced in January, 1990. Many million liters of liquid all-in detergents, fabric softeners, dishwashing liquids, and the most diverse range of cleaning products now leave this plant every month, destined for the shelves of discount stores throughout Europe.

Bopfingen
Since 1989, we have also produced an extensive range of high-quality body-care specialities, such as shower and bubble bath mixtures, numerous hair care products, and cream soaps, at the former GNANN plant in Bopfingen, in the German state of Baden-Württemberg.

Wuppertal
The original premises in Wuppertal nowadays house the Marketing/Sales, Research & Development and laboratory departments. This building, located on the Schwarzbach thoroughfare, is the cradle of LUHNS' varied history, with its rich tradition.
